My 3.7 year old son, diagnosed with ASD, has been receiving weekly speech therapy sessions with Michelle for some time now; and, within this timeframe I have seen him improve his speech and communication skills in a multitude of ways. She did not just work on helping him get his usage of pronouns correct, she also worked on helping him with the expression of his wants, needs and feelings as well as basic personal interactions such as saying hello and looking a person in the eye when you meet them. I find her approach very professional as well as holistic and most importantly she knows how kids with speech and communication disorders work and how to work with these kids! She understands their language and knows how to engage them and provide therapy via play and other methods. It takes a certain type of therapist to be able to work successfully with kids and Michelle is just that! She’s silly and goofy enough to capture your kid’s attention and she also knows how to be firm with them and get them to cooperate and listen up! Michelle didn’t just provide therapy for my son, she took the time to explain things to me, provided or led me to resources that enabled me to facilitate my son’s on-going learning while at home and out and about. She understands the unique struggles and challenges that parents of kids with speech and communication difficulties may encounter and has provided me with tools to help me manage my own emotions when things get tough with my son. Michelle has been such a positive support for my son and our family and I highly recommend her!
